I've been avoiding asking about this for a while now.

Okay this is something I've been kinda holding back on because it's somewhat of a taboo subject. I feel comfortable with you all so I might as well ask away. Since I've started losing weight and making healther decisions with my food and also my daily acitivites, not to mention the exercise, my libido has increased tremendously.  To be completely honest, my sex life previously was pretty much non-existant. It was also beginning to cause problems in my marriage.  I thought I wasn't attracted to my wife any longer. I figured it was just how marriage went. It just gets old after a while ya know? Other thoughts were I just didn't want to exert the energy. It hurt my knees and it just wasn't as pleasureable as it used to be. Now, things are pretty much back to the way they used to be before I started regaining all my weight.  Don't get me wrong, this is in by NO means a complaint! I'm VERY happy to have my drive back! I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Do you think it's related to the weight-loss or do you think it's more of an emotional thing?

I think it's an emotional thing to your weight loss.  I know that I'm "proud" of my weight loss, and because of my additional pride, have become more self confident and more willing to "get it on".     You go on wit your bad self, Chris!

it think its very emotional. as you are taking better care of yourself, you feel more confident, more attractive, less lazy, more energy. as you lose weight, certainly the functionality is better. also as you eat better, you may *smell* better, which makes you more attractive and plesant to be close to. here is a study they did at the DFC which showed losing just 10% of body weight significantly improve sex lives:   http://www.dukemednews.org/news/article.php?id=9305

Heya Chris,      Yeah, my sex drive usually does a 180 degree turn depending on whether or not I'm taking care of myself or not (as in like twice a month compared with twice a day).  And while I do feel sexier in general at a lighter weight and with better toned muscles, it seems to be more about mindset for me (course maybe that's a female thing).  So even if I'm at a heavier weight, as long as I'm eating right and exercising, my drive is quite healthy.  However, even at a light weight, if I'm on a binge or avoiding exercise, it usually signals an emotional downturn for me, which goes along with a tendency to withdraw and avoid interaction with people in general.

I agree, I think it is more emotional too. Seems the positive shift in attitude is what really has brought it on. I like being around myself now so I imagine that's why I'm more willing to share myself !  Anybody else want some??? lol just kidding!! HEY,  BACK OFF! Ah! Hey now! Whoa!  ;D On the physical side I do find it much easier to perform now that my belly has shrunk a bit.  I also find my stamina has increased and I actually enjoy getting my heart rate up during.
