What are some good snack foods for in between meals?

Heya Chris,      Since I eat every 2 1/2 hours, I don't really snack in between (all my meals are snacks LOL).  But if one of my meals is going to fall into a time when I'll be driving or stuck somewhere away from home, then I'll generally take either low-fat string cheese, unsalted roasted peanuts, or a protein bar.  They're my fallback foods when I don't have access to my fridge/freezer/microwave.      This will be the case on Friday cause I have to ring steward all day at a dog show, so I'm taking cheese for my 8:30, a protein bar for my 11:00, and some peanuts for 1:30.  By the time my 4:00 meal rolls around, I'm hoping to be on my way home cause I usually like to end my day with a salad (and that doesn't travel too well :-).

I too can't be trusted with a full box/bag of anything.  I've forced myself to grab a serving and walk away and be content but sometimes I find my gluttonous self going back for more.  I think after reading all your suggestions whenI go to the grocery store I will buy some of those rice cakes, some low sodium fat free beef jerky, low-fat string cheese (yummy) and see if I can't find some variety in the 100-calorie snack packs. I also like yogurt so I may also be able to find some of that.  Thanks for all your help!

i forgot all about yogurt - i like light and fit dannon fat free - they are 60 cals per container and are almost always on sale at one grocery store or another. my favs are vanilla and white chocolate rasberry. chop a banana or some strawberries into one of these and its definitely a filling substantial snack - i don't really care for yogurt all by itself but thats me (bonus - it definitely takes longer to eat than a granola bar).

I have to steer clear of granola bars.. I love them and they're like Lay's chips, you can't eat just one!  I love yogurt but I imagine the kind I like is off limits for a snack. lol I'll check it out though and see if I can find some low-fat/lower cal kind.
