Couch to 5k: Week 2, Session 1 - Peace, Love and TOPS. I've got it all!
Welp, I just finished up session 1 of week 2! This week I run for 90 seconds and walk for 2 minutes. This session was harder than week 1 session 3 but easier than week 1 session 1. Go figure! I am very impressed with myself! Kudos to me! I did this whole session with only 15 seconds of extra walking when my wife forgot to tell me to go, lol! Oh, I did lose 10 other seconds when my brand new pedometer fell off and I went chasing it but I was still moving fairly quickly so that don't count. :) I didn't get winded until the 4th or 5th jog. That's a big change from last week. I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to do this week. I figured I'd have to repeat last week before being able to move on. Man I'm so happy!
I also walked around the work parking lot today. I don't know how many steps or how many miles that is. If I remember tomorrow I'll drive it in my truck to find out.
I also did somethign else tonight. I went to a TOPS weigh-in and meeting after learning about it in another post. Just so happens they had a meeting tonight. Is that coincidence or some other force at work here? :) In fact, I joined the support group! It was really cool! I always thought that cheers and overly positive songs about our problems were kinda gay but man it felt good to be there with 25 other people singing fat songs, cheering on the losers and "We Care"ing for the gainers. It's a really cool program that rewards your success and encourages competition. Just my style! I love to be lifted up and I love to win! Anyways, as time progresses I'll post about my progress in the group from time to time to keep you all updated. Me, a support group junkie. who'd've thunk!?
Since I went to the meeting I ended up eating a late dinner and then went running directly after. While I did find the session easier I think it would have been even easier had I not been wanting to upchuck my dinner and water. Oh man it sucks when you can hear the food and water sloshing around in your stomach. The motion makes you sick to your stomach and all that acid or whatever gave me heartburn. I wish I could've puked but then I'm afraid I would've become addicted to that and started purging after meals. Probably a good thing it all stayed down. :)
I'm looking forward to session 2 and next week's TOPS meeting.
Some thoughts while exercising:
- Slosh slosh slosh..uhhhhhh ohhh ..burp.. Phew god that smelled horrible..
- Hey I can actually smell when I run now!
- Gee it makes the time go by much faster when you look around while running.
- Uh oh.. Phew I'm getting winded.. If I could manage to get the breath up Imma yell at the wife and ask her how much time I have left...oh thank god she said stop!
- Ouch charlie hourse! I shoulda stretched my calves.. i forgot.
- Oh cool... My nephew quit running.. am I actually outdoing him this time?
- Phew..sherise's ass is looking nice in those capris.. I wonder if she wants to make out tonight...?
- Eww, theres a week old pile of my dog's poo and it still smells!! Gross!
- I wonder if I can win the Highest Weight Lost for the week award next week.
Oh almost forgot I have 8,908 steps in for the day. WOOHOO!! Of those, 4,066 were considered aerobic steps. That's 37 minutes of aerobics for the day, not too shabby! If I'm reading this right that's 530 calories burned. I love my new pedometer. It also reads 29.9 grams of something, not sure what that is but it's on the same screen as teh calories. I've traveled 3.37 miles by foot today.
