I have lurked on this site for awhile now and have wanted to respond but feel in some way that I did not belong. I had lap RNY in May of 05. Reading all of your posts reminds me of my days pre op and in fact much like my days now. I am thankful for my surgery everyday and would do it again in a second. I was blessed not to have any complications what so ever. In fact I am able to eat anything now(including the bad stuff). I suffered with binge eating pre op and thought surgery was the sure fire way to end that but I still struggle with that on a daily basis. The surgery is really a tool to help you lose though I have found that its even harder to maintain than it was to lose. I lost from 263 to a low of 143.9 but now fluctuate between 150 and 155. At one point I got up to 157.  I commend each and everyone of you for doing it without surgery. For me I don't know if the battle with food will ever end. I do know that I eat a whole lot healthier now and have learned to like some foods that I never could imagine before surgery. Sweets was always my problem and it still is.  Anyways I was wondering if you would mind me joining in some of your conversations. I too still need support. I am currently following the Core plan of weigh****chers(most of the time). The only thing I have found to help the most is to be on a routine. I eat everyday at the same times and sometimes eat the same things alot.  A little about me, I am a 26 stay at home mother of a 3yr old son. I am married to a guy I met in 7th grade. We have been married for 8 years. He is my rock! I honestly don't think I could function without him in my life. I sometimes visit my surgery board but being this far out its almost completely dead. Other than that I visit the weigh****chers board but I can only lurk because I am not a member, so I'd love to have a place to converse with others for support and to offer the same in return. Candy

You are more than welcome to join in our board! Congrats on all your weight loss! And you will get support here. I love this board.  Ask questions, speak your mind, be silly. Doesn't matter!  And to be with a guy that you met in 7th grade...amazing! You need a pic up so we can all see who we are talking to!   ---Christa

Thankyou Christa. I have never really thought about a picture and besides I am computer illererate. I wouldn't even know where to start. Yes, all through school we were known as Candy and Terry because you never saw one without the other. We have been through our share of troubles but I don't think there is anything we couldn't get through now. Candy

Awesome!  I'm glad you decided to post! I've lurked the other post-op boards and I've noticed the same as you. There doesn't seem to be a lot of activity once the tool has done it's job. Not sure why that is.   Feel free to move your skinny butt into the conversations.  The more the merrier! Besides, you're so small there's plenty of room!   26 and married for 8 years? WOW? I'm 27 and have been married for 1.5 years! lol Wouldn't trade it for anything. We've got a great marriage.  I think one of our best attributes is our ability to talk to each other about ANY subject. We can even freely talk about our attraction to other people and get it all out of the table. Anyways... that's a whole different conversation! If you need help with the pictures let me know.

I told ya!  Everyone's great here! I can't imagine anyone here being prejudice towards those who've had WLS. If you find some, lemme know. I'll open a can of woop azz on em! w000tee w00000! Being jealous because the other person looks or is attracted to someone is useless. It's always a turn off and only makes the other person want to stray more.  If you embrace the fact that you are human and you're gonna lust and be attracted to other people you have a much better chance of controlling it.  See Christa, I told my wife I thought you were hot and she had to come look for herself. She agreed and said you were a cutie. ;) Candy, even though you've been married 8 years I bet you still see other men and say DAAYUUUMMM to yourself. Hey maybe you did that with me? hahahah!  I know i'm a sexy beast! woohoo! Lemme take off my shirt and jiggle for ya baby! LMFAO!  WHEEEWWWWWWWuuuhh!  How ya like dem man boobs!?? Christa likes `em too!   Lol ok that's enough of that! See what you done made me do!

I do like em! haha. Chris go find me a guy like you and send him here to Michigan.  Do you have a single brother? haha. Oh man. You're great, I love reading your posts they make me laugh.  And oh yea when I was in a relationship I looked at other men and thought holy moly! I think I mentioned it before to the guy I was with and he was like "oh you wanna go date him then...blah blah blah" Seriously? Come on now. Now see I would be like your wife Chris if my guy said yea she's hot, cute whatever I would wanna see and I would either agree or wouldn't. I'm not the jealous type. Now hop to it Chris go find Christa a future husband, he has to be taller than 5'5" thats all I ask for, and I have had bad luck with blonde guys, and no super skinny ones, I like some meat on my men. HAHAHA.

Hiya Candy,      Welcome!  Everybody's invited to our little corner of the universe! LOL      And you sound a lot like me: binge eater of sweets, needs to eat on a schedule, often eats the same thing...twins! ;-)  But seriously...we all obviously have a problem interacting with food or we wouldn't have ended up here in the first place.  So whether someone's had surgery or not, many of the issues are identical, especially when you're talking 2 years post-op and further out.  Personally, I was/am/always will be a food addict, so I have to treat it like a drug.  Playing around on these forums is good way for me to waylay compulsions in a positive way.      So pop in frequently...we can always use some fresh blood.  :-)
