Couch to 5k - Week 1, Session 3: OMG, fat kids circle me too!
Welp, it's Monday morning and it's been almost more than 24 hours since my last session of Couch to 5k. I lost over 100lbs this weekend because I couldn't eat after being laid up in the parking lot. Yeah, it's wonderful! Exercise is the trick! It'll disable you so you can't move, which is good because if you can't move you can't get to food to eat it! yay!!
Seriously though, this session went quite well. I made it all the way to the 8th minute of jogging before I had to extend my walk time. This time I only extended it 30 seconds and honestly I probably could have not skipped it. I actually lost track of time and when I looked I was 15 seconds past time to start running so I said oh well, I'll just wait for 30 seconds to pass. My nephew was there along with his friend Logan who is I think 17 now. He's about 5'8" and weighs probably 280-300lbs. Can you believe this little porker was running circles around me too??????????????? OMG I was like what the heck is wrong with me??? Then I found out that everyday at school they do exactly what I'm doing now except the run 1 minute, walk 1 minute and do it for 14 minutes. So the cool thing was when 14 minute**** his big butt was tired and winded! HAHAHAH! I caught up to him and was able to keep going while he was struggling. Man that felt good! What is it with men and competition?? Naturally, my nephew lapped me at least twice in each jogging session. Lol.
During the first 5 minutes it didn't seem like anything had changed. I was winded and thinking man this is never gonna get easier but somehow it did. Well I wouldn't say easier but I did find I was able to keep going though the last jog liked to have killed me. My legs didn't burn near as much and today only my left leg is still sore but I think this is from the tennis. Yah, I did the running on top of the tennis I played that morning so I got a double work out.
Ok I'm rambling so I will close. I'm not looking forward to Tuesday. I think I have to run for 2 minutes this week and I don't know if I can do that. I'm gonna try it though. It feels good to be active and the wife tells me my snoring has completely stopped. That's weird!
(I'm all over the places this morning...perhaps I shoulda had decaf!)
Oh, I almost forgot. Saturday morning I weighed myself and I couldn't seem to get a constant accurate reading but at least 6 out of 10 times (lmao) I weighed 306.5 lbs so that means I gained 1.5 lbs.. :( The first time I stepped on it read 303.5 and I almost started dancing but then I realized that it wasn't level. :( So the old saying no pain no gain is absolutely true... I had tremendous pain and I gained! This week I have to focus on eating less. I think that was my problem last week. I had quite a few days where I at a little more than I should have. Either than or maybe the running built some muscle?
