One question
That's a very thought provoking question. Hmmm....I don't want to say that every fat person is a fod addict because I am sure that there are medical conditions that cause obesity. A lady I know slipped and fell a couple of years back and busted her ankle up and now gets almost NO physical activity, she has accumulated quite a few lbs. in a few years. Also, my mother has a thyroid disorder that makes it extremely difficult for her to lose weight.
I too have a strike against me because of genetics, but mom had to spend eight days in the hospital because she doesn't take care of herself the way she should and let her blood sugar and blood pressure cause some major health risk, that was my wake up call. I have to do something now.
So, I guess my polticalically correct answer will be no.
Hiya Neecee,
Absolutes are almost never true, so I'd have to say no. There are extremely rare individuals with metabolics disorders which cause obesity (nothing something simple like diabetes or PCOS which do NOT automatically equal obesity); there are some poor folks who are on steroids for decades who are pretty much doomed to obesity, and I think some people just overeat with poor choices in general who aren't truly addicts.
Addiction is a pretty specific term which involves obsession, a sense of secrecy, willingness to suffer negative consequences to feed the addiction, and a host of other criteria. I think many of the morbidly obese have varying levels of food addiction but not always all of them.
Hi, I'm Chris and I'm fat. I'm addicted to food. All fat people are addicted to food because I say so and that makes me feel better. Since none of you really exist and this is all part of my elaborate sub-reality I am making it a law now. All fat people, unless I state they have a medical reason, are addicted to food. Do not argue, you will be thrown in prison!
