Heya,      Congrats!  Hope everything goes smoothly for you.    Are you going to practice eating like a lap bander till surgery?  Just don't fall into that "last supper" trap I see so many pre-ops fall into.  We'll cheer you on. :-)

Congrats!!!  What made you decide on lap-band?  I sure hope you don't plan on leaving us here!? And I hope I don't cause you harm by saying this cuz I don't know if it's a good idea or not but regarding the last meal. I SO would be having a fulfulling last meal!  Afterall 1 meal isn't gonna kill me right? hahah

I decided for Lap-band because the idea of removing the vast majority of my intestinal tract didn't seem cozy to me.  The bypass is just too intrusive and too much of a change.  Plus, lap-band is technically reversible; bypass is forever.  That plus all the extra side effects of the bypass - lapband just seemed smarter.  And no, I won't be leaving you guys.  I'm still trying to lose weight the non-surgical way for the next four weeks.  Can't get rid of me that fast!

I was once torn between RNY and DS.  I wanted RNY first cuz it's was most popular, but then I liked how I could eat more normal foods with DS. Then I read about malnutrition side affects with DS moreso than RNY. So I decided RNY, then I started reading mroe about lap-band and I like it too but there isn't enough history so I don't know how the long term success rate is. God it's all just so confusing so thats why I'm a non-op! lol  At least for now..

What exciting news.  Just know that we are all here to support you on this journey.  I wish you the best.  Lap - band seems like a very practical and not to drastic surgery.  That would be my choice of surgery. The big day will be here before you know it.  Deep breaths girlie.  Your on your way.

wow!!  Shame on me, did not read your profile yet.  I too may have it someday. If i don't get too old by the next time if I gain.  I so hope I have learned my lessons and will keep it off this time. I am so supportive.  The lapband board is very active, but I hope you will check back in here!

Best of luck, doll!
