I'm Back

Hey all,      Sorry I disappeared for a few days, but I got really busy there for a bit.  We're now in the putting the basement back together phase, so I've been painting, painting, painting.  Plus, I got the bug to start writing again, so while inspiration was hot, I've been chipping away at that project too.      I've been doing pretty well on my exercise but had a pretty massive meal last Wednesday night when I went to my medical conference.  They had a big basket of rolls sitting in the middle of the table taunting me all during the salads, so I finally broke down and ate one which was at least whole wheat but I buttered it too! Ugh.  Then the main course was mostly healthy (just too big).  I ate the whole filet mignon (very tasty), about 80% of the baked salmon (kind of fishy tasting), the steamed broccoli, and the naughty rice.  I left the steamed peppers/carrots mixture on the plate cause peppers equal acid reflux for me.  Then I truly lost it and ate the slice of cherry cheesecake they had served everyone.  At least it was small and I only had water to drink with my meal.    Am trying to find some bright spots LOL  Anyway, I was so massively stuffed that I wasn't even hungry the next morning until hours after I normally would have eaten.  It threw my whole schedule off, and I ended up not only falling short on my water for the day but eating way too many chicken taquitos that night.  Fortunately, I've been a little angel since Thursday evening, so I didn't do too much damage.       Had a little boo boo at the gym though this afternoon.  I'd already finished the elliptical and the weight room and had just gotten on the recumbent bike.  My tailbone's been kind of sore, so I think I was leaning farther back than I usually do (which shifts the legs farther forward than normal).  Next thing I know I'd rammed my right knee into the front of the bike.  There's only a tiny little ridge underneath the structure that shows all the digital read outs, but the forward momentum of the pedals smashed my knee into hard enough to slice it open just over the knee cap then feel like it was trying to rip my knee cap off as the pedal continued its rotational arc.  And that was my better knee!  It made the rest of my workout time a little ouchy.       Anyway, I missed you guys.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Julie - Welcome back!  I usually just lurk, but I have missed you and I'm glad you are back.  I enjoy reading your postings and your weight loss inspires me.  I'm sorry you have had a bit of a rough time, but it sounds like you are back on track.  So sorry about your knee!  That sounds very painful!!  Take care of yourself and keep in touch.  Your fellow Kansan, Dorothy

HI JULIE!!!!  I've been so busy, too. Not nearly posting as much as I would like to, trying to keep up this great momentum here - isn't it great??? I bet you are hungry, damn girl, you have been working so hard on the house.  I bet you needed every calorie.

Glad to see you.  Here's hoping your knee is only barking a little, nothing serious.

Has there been some increase in posts on this board? I never lurked here. I just came here after I made the decision not to have WLS.
