ARGH!! Monday's suck! Where's my whip!

I know, I know. Don't beat yourself up.  I blew it at lunch!  I had good intentions on eating healthy but I just couldn't seem to find healthy food.  I wanted some baked chicken and green beans so I went to KFC, they didn't have any on the menu so I left and went to Bojangles who also didn't have any on the menu. I could've sworn both of these places had roasted/rotisserie style chicken at some point. So I settled for salt-n-pepper catfish at Bojangles. I didn't want the soda so I didn't get the combo, they told me they had a dinner with two sides and I was like oh..ok that'll work. I"ll have green beans and...hmmm...dirty rice.. (I should've chosen more green beans but I wasn't thinking) So I get the meal and my eyes pop, it looked like so much food!  They threw in a biscuit and I was like uhh...great.. DEFINITELY don't eat that greasy thing, the fish is greasy enough.  Anyways to make  a short story turned long short again I ate it all, every bit of it.  I think it was a handful and 1/8 of the sides and probalby 6-7  3 or 4 inch pieces of catfi****ried to slow down and whatnot but it just didn't work. Argh.. Why do I lose so easily?? I think I know why.. I took lunch at 12:30 today and I drove around looking for something decent till 1pm when I hit KFC and then at 1:15 I got to Bojangles.. Wasn't till l ike 1:20 or so till I got to eat. I think I was just so hungry I couldn't stop myself. I had my snack at 10:30ish.  So I guess I should note this as a lesson learned, "Don't take a late lunch otherwise you'll overeat!" I definitely need to eat plain ole tuna tonight. Edit:  Oh yeah, I've had 70 ounces of water today so at least I'm still doing good there. Love my water!

No, freaking out! It's fine.  You know we all mess up. It is bound to happen.  So it's totally fine. And don't punish yourself with just plain tuna for dinner.  You can still have a good amount for dinner just all healthy. And go for a walk....... Walkie walk  Tomorrow will be better. It is Monday. And ugh I'm going to explode from stress right now. I have WAY too much to do.  I can't get it done my brain won't work fast enough today! I'm going to be at work ALL night tonight! Now don't dwell on what you just ate. And at KFC you could of had the grilled chicken Twister those are yummy. I highly recommend them.  Just keep going....don't look back.  ---Christa

I actually love tuna and have been wanting some more so I really am gonna have tuna tonight. It won't be plain though. I'll season it up with olive oil and yummy spices. :)  I'm thinking of starting a walking/jogging routine. Actually, someone posted it here on the forums but I don't remember who. So whoever you were, thanks!  (link below) I've just got to figure out when I want to do this. Tues, Thurs and Saturday sound good but what time of day. Morning or night? I have to go when no one can see me so it has to be dark. Since I get up at 5am I can't imagine getting up any earlier. So I'll just have to think on that one a bit. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml You're gonna have to pull yourself away from here so you can get some work done! Easier said than done right? I saw that at KFC but I had my heart set on some baked chicken and I was almost positive Bojangles had it. Cursed fried chicken joints! lol  Man, I still feel bad about it. Gotta shake that feeling!

One bad meal is alright.  As long as you're not making a daily habit of this, you should be fine and stay on track.  Congrats on the water consumption!

It's done now! We've all been there.  Going out to eat in general is hard to stay on track. I've had to cut way back on it.  You had one observation here that is dead on:  don't get too hungry then go to a restaurant. Go the the Hippie Store! Get some green tea and sprouts.

Get past it, guy.  Good for you to come to confession, my son....

like everyone said, don't beat yourself up. but you MUST be accountable. good thing about fast food joints/chains (if there is anything good about them), nearly all of them have websites with their menus and nutrition info. it is important to track your food, even if you all out binge, because it often isn't as bad as you might think. for example, dirty rice from bojangles is 166 cals while green beans are 25. plain biscuit is 243. i didn't see catfish, so that might be a regional thing....anyway, its worth checking out, even now. so that if at any point in the future, you do find yourself at KFC or something similar, you can be familiar with the "safer" items. a roasted chicken sandwich is 430 while a roasted chicken wrap thing is 530. still not wonderful choices, but better than the extra special crispy.  there are salads there too, but i personally would never get a salad at a fast food place (i don't care for salad really). if you are someone who ends up at chains often, you can buy a guide at nearly any bookstore than has all the nut facts in them. i used to keep one in my car in the event that i ended up  at a fast food place (the book i have also has chains like applebees etc).  one other thing i do - if a place gives me something extra (like a biscuit) and i know i don't want to eat it, i will often toss it in the garbage so that it won't tempt me. fries are a good example - maybe you do want a few fries (which is totally fine) - i will take the fry container and throw out like half of them, so i only end up eating half of what they give you. i do the same thing with like frozen yogurt and other items that come in big portions. i know that if i don't do that, i more than likely will end up eating it because its sitting in front of me. www.dwlz.com and www.calorieking.com have lots of restaurant nutrition info.

I vented to the wife last night and she was just a laughing at me like I was insane. She thinks I didn't really eat that much but I sure feel like I did. When I got home I found out we had no tuna so I felt sorry for myself and finished off the leftover mexican as if it was going to make me feel better. It didn't of course. lol Ohh well though.  I love my wife so much. She's so supportive. We talked about it and she said the next time we want to eat out we would order one meal and share it and if we had any leftovers we wouldn't take it home with us. God I love that woman; she's brilliant!! lol  Oh yeah, and she's going with me tonight to start my exercise routine.  I'm gonna do the Couch to 5k thing. I want to be a runner. Something I've always wanted to do.  I'll post and let ya know how it goes, if I don't post, I died! hahah Thanks so much ladies!  It's now Tuesday an so far I'm doing good.  Back on track so to speak. I've had my 20oz of water for breakfast and two bananas. (AHH HAA! Beat those taquitos this mornin'!)  I have tropical trail mix for a snack at 10 and 3 pinwheel sandwiches with a serving of sun chips for lunch.  Mm love those pinwheels. These have a spinach wrap around them. It's like bread but made out of spinach..it's wierd but tastes just like normal pinwheel bread. At least I call it bread. Not sure what it is lol.Perhaps a tortilla. Either way it's got yummy veggies and deli meat. Andy thank you for your wisdom once again.  I still haven't replied back to your earlier post but I sure still intend to. I'm not sure I am ready to start counting my calories on a regular basis but I will definitely remember to count them when I start beating myself up. I can't believe that those chicken sandwiches and wraps have that many calories. That's insane! It's amazing we can even eat anything at all these days.  OMG, how many calories was I consuming in the past??? Gotta go post those questions!
