I'm 19 years old and I have been trying to lose for weight for a long time now. I just started my diet this week and have lost 6 lbs so far (most of that just being waterweight though)! I really hope this board can help me through my weight loss plan! 177/171/135

Hello.  Good for you.  Now is the time to lose that weight.  You are young and age is on your side.  You can do this.  We are all in this together.  Have a great weekend and stay focused on those goals.  I can't wait to get down to 177.  That would be a big accomplishment for me.   320 / 220 / 150

If i could be your age and know what I know now.  Smart you - to start on this the right way  now. The best way to stay healthy is to never get fat. If the scale is creeping upward, it may not stop til you get a grip. First of all, i hope you are eating regular meals - keep balance in mind every day:  lean meats, fruits, vegetables (really hard to do), fruits, low fat dairy, the correct amount of grains.  Grains:  For example, two servings of rice/pasta is only about as big as your fist. One piece of bread is a serving - however, not a thick piece, that can be nearly two servings.  One serving weighs 15 grams. At our age, i was thinking a diet meant to smoke cigarettes all day, drink coffee, and eat saltines. That kind of behavior actually helped me to gain weight. Starving teaches your body to hoard calories. I didn't beleive that, but turns out, it was true. Good for you! Learn all you can.

Good for you.

Awesome job!! 1 week passed 6 lbs down, that's great!  I found that after the first week of testing out the waters things seemed to get a little easier.  We're all here for you!
