Welcome to the wonderful non-surgical board! Glad to have you here! So I'm interested and I'm sure everyone else is, tell us a little bit about yourself.  What kind of diet are you gonna try or follow? I love to hear what everyone is doing to make their life better it gives me ideas of things I could do as well! Good luck on the journey!

Hi Virgie and Kris ~

Nice to meet you! We can do this...I am bound and determined not to succumb to WLS...I know it's a great tool for people, but I just can't do it for myself... even though I get harassed from my aunt everytime I see her... she is a N/P and is always on me about my weight. I know she loves me and is concerned, but I can't go thru with it. I've lost it before, even though it was 30 lbs, I can do it again! Another hard thing is work!!! Constant snacks and coffee... I've only recently started drinking it and I'm ashamed to admit that I sort of became addicted to the wonderful world (NOT) of flavored creamers!!! WTF??? LOL   they are delicious... at least they do not carry the chocolate mint truffle anymore...(that was at xmas time only!!!) Looking forwards to making new friends here!  Virgie, those grandkids won't be able to keep up with you before u know it!

Hello! Usually the at night before I go to bed I make my food for the next day to take to work with me.  So before I leave to go to work I can just grab it and go then I know I have food on me, that is healthy.  And let me tell you I am fast food junkie myself.  But i always come here and talk about everything and everyone helps and usually when I have the support I seem to get myself back on track.  This site really helps me. And Nora Roberts......Love....Love....LOVE her! Absolutely love her books! They're really great to read! If you have any questions at all just ask everyone will help! ---Christa

Welcome to the boards!  Glad to have you here! It sounds like you know exactly what to do. Keep it up and stick to your plan and continue to come here. This place will be a blessing in your good and bad times.  As for me, I am trying a different approach. I find I can't stick to a diet so what I'm doing now is just donig my best to make healthier decisions and eat less. I eat 3 meals a day and drink nothing bu****er and coffee with artificial sweetener in the morning.  LOTS of water. 4-5 20oz bottles a day and more as soon as I my bladder can handle it! I've lost weight in the past but have always gained it all back, this time will be different.  I am taking what worked for me in the past and adding new attitude to it. The "I've already done it, so it's easy" attitude, meaning that I know and believe I can do this therefore I will. The easy part comes in by not worrying an obsessing over it, or at least trying not to! (Darn that scale!!) Good luck to you and congrats on making the right decision!  Being thinner and happy with yourself changes EVERYTHING!

Hi Janine ~ All we can do is take it day by day... it will be so worth it in the long run.  I must say I'm very happy that I posted here, seems like it's going to be wonderful for support. Take care!  Sandra

Hi Sandra! Glad you popped in. hey, i have a possible solution to your coffee addiction. Buy some chocolate Body Fortress at Wallymart or any other good quality protein powder.  Take about half your usual serving and mix it with enough cold water to smooth it - then add that to your coffee.  There's breakfast and a couple snacks if you want it.  You can spice it up by adding cinnamon or adding mint flavoring no-cal.  There's also vanilla.   There's also a multitude of sugar free syrups made by DaVinci - look at trader Joe's or nicer stores.  Add fat free milk to those and you have a better choice, too.
