Mini WOW Moment

Hey all,      Even though we've been involved in gutting and remodeling various sections of our house since last spring, our current basement project has only been going on for the last 2+ weeks or so.  And there are different crew members from ACT helping with this area than had been here before, including two women.  So they have only seen me recently.      Anyway, yesterday I was hauling some director's chairs out of the basement to storage, but we were pulling the canvas seats/backs off of them to throw out since they were water damaged.  Each end of the canvas seat goes around a tiny dowel rod which slides into a narrow channel in the chair's framework.      One of the chairs took forever to remove the seat because somehow the dowel rods had gotten wedged partially up out of their channels.  So the woman made the comment that it had probably happened when someone who was heavy had sat in them.  I instantly said, "Well, that would have been me then."  And she, without a pause and completely genuinely said, "No, it couldn't have been you.  It would have been somone heavy."       Someone thought I wasn't heavy! lol  I still feel enormous even though I know all my clothes are very baggy, but it's still so hard to guess how others view me...especially ones who haven't seen me in the past.  The Schwan's man always comments when he comes every other week how small I'm getting (he HAS seen me heavier), but I always figure he's just buttering me up so I'll buy more stuff. LOL      I don't know at what point I'll actually feel "normal."  Hopefully, at some point I'll see myself realistically.

YES!!!  This is such a great NSV. Yet another example of how being fat in our society so deeply affects self-image.  I don't take good picutres while smaller or bigger, but at least pictures tell a story for me. I can see changes in my face, shoulders, especially.  Pictures of my back were really hard to look at 27# ago.  Good for you.  Your hard work and diligence is paying off.
