Well, I was really happy this morning.  Before I worked out with my personal trainer, she took my measurements and I've lost 8.5 inches and 21.5 lbs over the last 8 weeks.  (although I didn't lose any weight this particular week, but I didn't gain any either!) I've been working really hard to jumpstart my weight loss again since January.  I had been plateauing for about 9 months- which is why I finally decided to hire a personal trainer.  I am now only 8 pounds away from being in the hundreds!!  I can't wait!! I'm also keeping my fingers crossed my insurance company will cover my LBL. I'm waiting for the letter with their decision!! Keeping my fingers crossed and really getting tired of this loose skin.  Thanks for listening. Katy highest weight 3 years ago was 428/current weight 208/ goal weight used to be 140, but I changed it to 160--honestly, I just want to feel and look comfortable and healthy-and if that's at 160 or 165- I'm good with that.  I used to think that was giving in, but now I know it's more about being happy and comfortable with who you are.

Hi Katy,      Grats on those inches!  I think my next present to myself for meeting my next "mini goal" will be a couple pairs of yoga pants from Victoria's Secret and some time with a personal trainer.  While I know how to do cardio till the cows come home , I'm not sure that I'm maximizing my time in the weight room.  (I do the same 6 resistance machines all the time, so I probably need to get some advice on some others I can add in.)  I'm sort of a big walking ball of old orthopedic injuries (too much time with too many horses), so I want to make sure I add things in safely without worsening any of my problems. Hi Julie, Congrats yourself!!!  I can't wait until I feel comfortable enough about my body to walk into a Victoria Secrets store.  I' m soooo envious. I think that's one of the first places I go after I have my LBL surgery.  Just to get a pair of sexy underwear.   Hiring a personal trainer was the best thing I ever did.  She is great.  I don't feel self concious.  She really pushes and teaches so much about what workouts and weights, etc. are best for me in my situation.  Like you, I know my way around all the cardio machines, but she has really educating me about weights and toning.  ( I also really love the aerobic classes this place has to offer.  They are so much fun.)  I wish I wouldn't have put it off so long.  I had been thinking about hiring a personal trainer for over six months before I did it.  It is the best investment in myself that I have made in a long time!  Anyway, keep up the good work!
