Hi Neecee, Yesterday was a bad day for me. It started out okay with a protein bar for breakfast and that South Beach wrap for brunch followed by my daily treadmill. But we had a family birthday party to go to yesterday afternoon at my sister-in-law's house followed by a Super Bowl party. We were in such a rush to make it there in time (and had to pick up the present/wrapping on the way there) that I forgot to take my snacks or water. Unfortunately, since two days before I had made that 13-hour drive, every protein bar I normally keep in the van was gone along with my water. Even my emergency peanut stash had been eaten the previous Friday when I'd stayed in Wichita for my husband's post-op doctor's appointment for his ventricular ablation. So I got to spend the afternoon staring at and smelling the 3 kinds of birthday cake they had along with the 6 kinds of ice cream. I did not touch even a smidge of it (small victory for me cause both of these foods are massive trigger foods for me) but sat there becoming more ravenous and dehydrated by the moment (the city tap water in Wichita tastes kind of vile****pt telling myself that there would be a nice veggie tray afterwards for the Super Bowl party that I could stuff myself on as a substitute binge since this is the sister-in-law that always puts out the massive food spread for any occasion. However, it was not to be. Super Bowl time came around and as far as the eye could see, fattening snack after fattening snack. So I escaped back home, bowing out from the party saying that my son needed to get home to finish his homework (hubby stayed there with our girls snarfing away). By the time I got home I was hungry to the point of nausea since I'd basically netted in about 50 calories for the day when my treadmill was substracted from the first 2 snacks I'd eaten. I didn't want to reach for my usual protein bar, so I had another South Beach wrap, this one some kind of southwestern chicken thingey, chased down with 20 oz of water. My intention (cause I felt pretty weak) was to watch a little tv in bed and rest and then eat a huge Caesar salad for dinner. But I was so tired from the drive the day before (I'd gotten home at 10 pm the night before) I fell alseep while drinking a second water. This gave me a grand total of only about 270 net calories for the day and 70 oz or so of water. While I did wake up at 167 this morning (due to a complete lack of anything in my digestive tract probably), I feel weak and light-headed. Nothing says "hold on to your weight" better to a body than starvation-level caloric intake. Anyway, I'm going to shoot for 1,500 calories today to help get things jump started metabolically speaking. Plus, Monday is a gym day for me, and I'm going to need a heck of a lot more energy than I have at the moment. And the minute after I get the kids to school this morning, I'm restocking my van with water/nuts/bars. Undereating is just as bad as overeating in my book, so I give myself a D- for the day. I'm shooting for 6 mini-meals today instead of 5, so that should help get me back on track. And grats Neecee on having a day that looked a heck of lot better than mine. Julie

before the day was over, I had a mini-binge on trader joe flax chips and salsa. I was very good at supper, which was extremely late on the grill, which was why i got starving. I ate very little wild rice pilaf at supper, lots of sweet mama squash, baked! still, not bad for the day: 1788, perfect balance of pro/carb/fat

Hi Neecee, A few years back, when I was doing the medically-supervised HMR program, salsa was one of the few "outside" foods we were allowed. I hadn't been a big salsa eater beforehand, but I can tell you that by 12 weeks into the program I was quite the salsa-aholic. I would use their chicken soup powder to make this thing sort of like a chicken souffle and then slather salsa on top of it. I find to this day, I still eat more salsa than I used to. Julie
