New to this board
Hi,
I have been watching this board for awhile and decided to stop lurking. I am hoping it becomes more active because I really believe in this approach (I have not ruled out surgery, just trying to lose weight myself one more time).
I think I got serious this time considering my only other option was surgery and I've done pretty well. I've lost 66 pounds since September but have miles to go....
I would love to hear from others how they are accomplishing this journey. I get so inspired from everyone's stories! Thanks so much!

yes! I would like to see more posting also, so here's hoping we all stick to it better. Please read my profile - i, too am trying this one more time. yes, staring surgery in the face did kind of make me look twice at things i do. It's all about the food for me, luckily i am an exercise nut at heart.
66# - whoa....that is great. Congrats!!!!!
I've only lost about 20 ish since August 1. I'm down to my last 25-30#, so probably that is why so slow in comparison. You don't say on your profile (that I saw anyway) how far you have to go, but man that is impressive!
What is your exercise program like?
Hi Neecee and Dee and Alisha,
That is great Neecee! I know these last few may be harder but what wonderful progress!
I haven't filled out my profile and will figure it out one of these days, a lot of the questions I answered just registering seemed to be very WLS focused...I didn't even know how to answer those...
My exercise program is a little different. I was in a small car accident in April and ended up with a bruised hip so I started physical therapy. When I finished the prescribed visits they offered their gym to me for $10 a week since I was independent in the exercise program. So I use the hip flexion machine, the treadmill...ugh, the arm bike, the wood stairs, weights, etc. I needed to kick it up so I drug out some old Richard Simmons tapes and I'm starting to do those a couple times a week as well.
Dee,
I am doing a program that is sort of a combination of what my MD suggested and what I can work into my life. I am doing protein shakes in the morning on my quest to get to 60ish grams of protein per day. I usually have chicken for lunch(chickfila!) and a salad and a salad and maybe a piece of ham or turkey or some protein for dinner. Boring and sparse but there you go. The calorie count is about 800-1000 per day and I'm trying to steer clear of most carbs (not veggies or occasional pieces of fruit, but bread, desserts, sugar, etc.)
Hi Alisha,
Thanks so much! I appreciate the friendly welcome from y'all. I think it's so much easier with support!
