My MD update - weight loss
Hello everyone...........
remember I told you I was going to see a doctor (an endicronologist) to help me lose some weight.
Well, I went - they took blood - everything came back OK - just my thyroid number (#3) was alittle low (which she said is normal since I am overweight.)
She put me on 1 water pill and 2 potassium pills - and an appetite suppressant 2x a day (I just take it once) and guess what ???????????
I lost 9 lbs!!!! In one week!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited............
I have tried soooooooo many diet programs during the last few years, and even after the first week, I get so frustrated, that I give up (especially with Weigh****chers, even though I've always loved it, and think its the best one out there.)
Seeing this weight loss the first week is making me even more excited to keep going.
The food isn't too bad -
basically LOW carb/ no sugar.
I eat FAGE yogurt in the morning with some Fiber One cereal and an Equal -
then lunch is a protein and a salad or veggie
and same thing for dinner time.
She told me to make sure that I have 3 meals a day and 2 snacks and I MUST have a protein every single time I eat (I have string cheeses for snacks.)
Only 2 fruits per day..........
Really not too bad. I do miss the bread and pasta - especially the pasta
(we Italians call it macaroni) LOL
I had really hit ROCK bottom at my all time highest weight of 217 -
I am 39 years old, and I know that I have to take care of this now before more and more time slips by.......and my weight keeps going up.
I haven't made any commitment to exercising yet, but let me just work on one thing at a time. Maybe that could be my goal next month.
I go back to see the doctor during the second week in February.
I am really excited!!!!!! I didn't think 9lbs would make me feel so good!!!!!!!!!
Have a good weekend everyone.
Ciao
I am happy for you! What is the app suppresant? Just out of curiousity.
This i basically how I eat these days, only I get a serving or two (real servings, not MY idea of a serving - LOL) at supper or lunch, usually supper.
I wonder fi you can eat the high protein Barilla pasta on occasion? It is very high in protein, and i eat less of it cuz it is satifying. The other idea is spaghettie squa**** can hit that pasta bell and ring it for ya!
I am glad you are inspired. Of course, this leads to finding ways that you will change your life so the wieght stays off, as i am sure you realize.
YAY!!!!
