I'm moving to HAWAII!!!! Yea, that's right, Hawaii. I must say, I am not excited about it lol. I mean who wants to live in Hawaii for AT LEAST 3 YEARS!!!! Plus, a lot of that me and my son may be alone due to all the military deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. To top all that off, I am no where near the weight I would like to be. So, I am so not bikini ready. I will be living in the land of the string bikini lol ! We are supposed to leave in 6 months, which I think is waaaay too soon when you are such a planner as myself. I have so much to do and so little time to do it. This is the first overseas trip since I have been married to my husband. Just the research alone is overwhelming. You wouldn't believe how much has to be done for the military to authorize my son and me to go. Anyway, enough ranting and whinning lol Guess I gotta suck it up Aloha Cam

Yes, I knew the time would come when I married him. Still, I'm a whinner lol. I would NEVER show it to him because I would only show the uptmost support, but it still sucks. I'm a momma's girl. It's gonna be hard for me to be somewhere where we can't just visit eachother. Plane ticket prices are outrageous!! My mom is really upset because we have her only grandson and she feels like she doesn't see him enough already. About the food that DH eats, you are SO right! My husband eats any and everything and never gains a pound. He is very well built and muscled. But he does work out 7 days a week with his job. We are hoping he won't go to Iraq and Afghanistan, but we are preparing ourselves for it because it is part of the job. I laughed so hard when I saw your comment about the braids. I thought the same thing when he told me. I was like, "darn it, my braids might get wet"!!! lol Then I thought, "Hmmm I wonder if I'm going to be able to find a good weavtician (a beautician who can hook up a good weave) I haven't even gone swimming in a very long time. I know I will have to take a refresher. My son has ear tubes and his ears are not supposed to get wet. He has like the headband type thing I put on him for baths and these plugs, but I have never tested it in terms of going swimming. That's going to be a challenge. Anyway, thanks for the comments and support!

I found this post interesting. I also moved from Illinois to california but now I am in Hawaii as well. We are stationed at Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps Base. I personally love it here. The only negative I have is the school systems (Hawaii wide), however I make up for that at home and have no problem with it. The weather is wonderful, there is a lot to do. I really do love it here. I have been here for 1.5 years. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Shel

HI Shelly, Everyone I have talked to has told me the same thing about the school system. That really makes me nervous. I have a child who has developmental delays and knowing that I am going somewhere with bad schools just really sucks. I am in the process of enrolling in the Exceptional Family Member program. Maybe once I get that done, the orders may change. I really appreciate your response and I will be emailing you.
