Anybody out there that is still on the gaining side after a hysterectomy? I want to have the WLS in 2007 (after switching insurances) and I'm so depressed that I'm gaining even more weight...

Hi Neecee!! I finally figured out how to get back here and respond. I'm such a dork sometimes. You may ask my age.......I turned 40 in July! I'm going through all kinds of hormonal ups and downs and today -- my girdle is killing me (shhhhhh I'm at work) and the guys I work with are getting an ear full when they pick on me. How did I get this way? I was saying prayers to all my angels as I'm driving to work today to please please please just give me strength to get 20-30-40 lbs off. I'm not too greedy, I could stand to lose 120 I'm sure. Although I haven't weighed in awhile. I'm so scared to do it!!! I cannot wait to have the WLS surgery. I want my life back!!! Shoooot, someone's at the door. Catch you all in a bit. Lorraine

I am 33 and had a Hysterectomy Dec 2005. BEFORE this I had lost right at 100 lbs. SINCE then I have gained about 30 (i think, not sure will know for sure after i see the doc). I did not realize that weight gain was a big problem after Hyst. My Doc had even said that I might loose more weight. What a joke. Sorry I dont have any great advice. I am hope to have the WLS in 2007 too. I am still waiting on a consult visit at this time. Hang in there,

Lorraine- I had a total hysterectomy and gained 38 lbs after the surgery. I am too very depressed about the weight gain. My doctor told me ah ..not too many woman gain after surgery and if they do its prob not from the surgery. He should try being a woman and having a hysterectomy and see how much he will gain LOL. I too want to have WLS but am scared to death. I fight with the decsion every day. Dawn

Hi Lorraine, I have Gained 20-30 pounds since my Hysterectomy in June of 2000. I was 32, and had dealt with Infertility issues for 7 years. I still am dealing with metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. I have just started to look into WLS. (I am 265 5'6") God Bless you on this Journey. Kristi

Ahh, that was very sweet Kristi, thank you. And thank you to everyone else too!! I just had a long conversation with a co-worker who is anti-surgery minded. It's so hard to hear, AGAIN, how I should just go work out, or take 5 minute breaks throughout my day to stretch or walk.......HE has had a weight issue all his life too, but he gets to get out of this office a lot more than I do. I'm at lunch now, eating at my desk (healthy so far today I might add) and I don't get to leave until my shift is over. I'm the only one in the office, and need to stick close to the phones and window in lobby. I'm sorry, I'm venting. I'm sort of replying to everyone who has replied to me all at once since I'm not good at doing individual responses. Now I've just had a call from a friend who has had many words of encouragement for me....I think I will put some kind of arm weights in my office to use while I'm on the phone and maybe some weights for my legs or something....anyone have any ideas on how to make your office your gym in a snap? And make it incognito????
