hernia repair

I have a 6"by 9" nylon mesh in my abdomen, where my bellybutton used to be. (It was removed along with the hernia.) I want to have the lap band procedure, but am unsure if they can do it with the mesh in place. Does anyone know if any Dr's can do that?
