Okay... here's what I like to refer to as my little accountability check!
Today is a bad day. Every once in a while I give myself ONE weekend day to make a little weary food choices. As well as ONE weekend day to have alchohol... Not the best by far... but not HORRIBLE at the same time.
B: Cup Yogurt w/ Kashi cereal sprinkled on top, 8 oz Milk
S: 1/3 ounce Smartfood Popcorn
L: Cheeseburger (I KNOW, NOT a good choice... but I allow myself one burger a month), with cheddar cheese, mushrooms, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Coleslaw.
S: none, the burger filled me up BIG TIME... snacking on water, I suppose.
D: Will have broiled chicken and veggies
S: probably will munch on some cheese after dinner, or maybe celery
I have been slacking in the H2O department today as well... Only had about 40oz so far.... will be pumping it through my veins like crazy in the next couple hours.

CJ,
Hi there and thanks for the accountability posting!!
I have a question for you though. On past posts you have written in your food, and I know that we've had the discussion before about "convincing yourself you've had the surgery." Looking at your food I think, wow, she's not eating much at all. But, I have done the same thing as you and eating large amounts of food is not on the agenda anymore. I have truly shrunk my stomach and I get full and stay full for a long time.
You said you did badly today, which honestly besides the self-professed cheeseburger, doesn't seem all that true. But HOW did you eat it? Do you feel like you'll be stuffed all day now? Was it with or without bread? I find it hard to get in all my food, which is a bad thing. I don't think I exceed 1300 calories a day on the days I get 5 "meals" in. I don't think I could eat a whole cheeseburger. How freaky is that from someone who used to be almost 400 pounds?? Yikes!!!! Do you think you'll be full all day??
Okay, enough questions, you poor thing.
my food today:
B: 2 eggs overeasy "fried" in cooking spray, 2 slices Louis Rich turkey bacon, 1 piece of lite wheat toast with a smear of brummels and brown yogurt spread (I usually only get 3/4 of this meal in, my dogs circle the table waiting for their treat. They get about 1/3 of the toast to split, and about 1/4 of the eggs, greedy monkeys)
S: mozzarella string cheese stick
L: 1/2 cup turkey chili, 1 oz. low fat cheddar, 1 tbsp. light sour cream
D: I haven't eaten yet, I'm really still full from lunch!! I should be eating something but it's already 8:30 and I hate eating late.
I slacked on water today too, which is bad. I had maybe 50 ounces. I just was out for a while and didn't feel like finding a bathroom or peeing myself!!! I am pumping some in me now, because honestly I am feeling parched!!!
Thanks again for the post, and please don't take the questions as a flame, I'm just really curious.

Hey Donna...
First thing I want to get into is the things I thought were "bad" for me today. Other than the obvious cheeseburger, The Smartfood Popcorn -- usually if I want a snack, I like to have something nutritious like veggies or a protein... I almost NEVER "snack" on "junkfood". I am afraid that if I get used to snacking on popcorn, it will turn into chips, etc etc. TERRIFIED of that. NORMALLY if I have a slight craving for junky-type foods, I will have just enough to get the taste in my mouth. I'm dissapointed in myself for eating the entire portion. BUT, again, not the worst choice I could've made.
NOW, onto the burger... I can't bring it up to my mouth and take a bite out of it. Just can't do it. I cut it up with knife and fork and eat small itty bitty bird bites. Strange, I know. I ate SOME of the bread. And no, I didn't end up eating the entire thing (which I knew would happen anyways.) And yes, I DO feel full ALL day from it. Like, disgusting full. Afterwards I had a stomach ache with nausia, shakes, and a severe headache for HOURS. I really regret eating it. I just wanted to take a nap... and I've been miserable ever since I ate it.
Also, I really didn't have an appetitite for my afternoon snack, OR DINNER. I only ate because I'm paranoid of going into starvation mode. Like you said, it's worse to skip a meal than it is to overeat. However, the last thing I wanted to do was eat crappy AND skip a meal. Double Trouble! So I wound up having roasted chicken, a spoonful of potato salad, and a pile of steamed spinach.
But in all reality... I honestly think I had experienced "non-op dumping" with the burger. I still feel nausious from it. I don't even want to LOOK at food (I'm surprised I'm talking about it without getting sick). UGH. But the positive thing is... next time I'm at a cookout and they ask "Do you want a hot dog or a cheeseburg..." I will definately remember this experience and say "Neither thanks... I'm all set... really."
The weird thing is I have never had problems with burgers before. Other times I dieted and lost weight, I still ate burgers (bunless or course). But, I CHOSE not to eat them for a long time... I think I may have had 2 in the last 3 years? But... I haven't put something as heavy and processed like that in my stomach AT ALL in about 7 or 8 months... and I think that's why I got sick.
For the sake of my future experiences, I'm not complaining!

CJ,
Everything you wrote makes a whole lot of sense to me. Of course if it makes sense to me and I end up being a nut case, then you are too!!
I think we are long lost "lifestyle change" sisters. This is freaky. You are me!!
I'm glad to see I am not alone in my thoughts, my fears and my routines!

HI Donna...
That's too funny you said that! Last night I was thinking nearly the same thing... saying to myself, "Donna and I really need to copyright our "nutritional plan" get together and write a book on it..."

I probably should've said in my original post, "I allow myself one not-so-good food choice a month..." instead of "I allow myself one burger a month" I was talking about my burger, and typed burger... I hardly eat burgers! Silly me... brain can't keep up with fingers...

Hey Andrea,
It doesn't seem like you're eating ALOT more... I know that for me, if I count my calories, I get scared and end up NOT eating meals and snacks, which is bad. Counting cals negatively effects me... it always makes everything I put in my body seem worse than it actually is. Now I try and ignore calorie content altogether, actually.
Whatever works, right??
