Lost 49 lbs. in 6 months. No surgery.
I am glad I just found this forum on here!!
I was denied surgery, but knew I just had to lose anyways. So on January 2nd I started a new way of eating (NOT a diet because I will have to do it forever) I eat healthy, but I do not deny myself anything if I really really want it. I drink 100 oz. of water a day. My acid reflux is a lot better, and my hips and knees don't hurt the way that they use to. The only discouraging part is that more people aren't noticing the loss.
I will post a couple of links here, but I am not sure how links work on this board.
this picture was about 12 lbs. below my highest weight.

My face and hair look terrible in this picture because I was so worn out from planning my sons graduation party. But the 49 lb. weightloss does show. (sorry to be bragging, but I am quite excited)

Hi Lisa and welcome to the non-op board!
Congratulations on your loss. Brag away, we like that.
I like what you said about your way of life and I am so glad that you didn't just keep waiting on ways to have the surgery instead of taking control of your life.
I know that my weight loss didn't show until I was down about 70 pounds. Frustrating to me, yes, but now people can't stop telling me how "skinny" I look. hah, right.
But again, welcome, and I'm glad that you are feeling better as well. That by far is the best outcome of weight loss.
Are you exercising at all? Add that and you'll be amazed at the other changes.
