Topic: RE: what company do you work for that covered your surgery
I am on travel and answering via my phone so please excuse the brief reply
I don't think my law they can force a company
I don't personally know lawyers but my Dr practice does and some are former patients. You may want to ask your Doctor
I know of a private insurance that can help but of course it will be out of pockets payments. Maybe they can suggest a good lawyer.
I can answer better on friday when I get home

HI Tom,
I spoke with the PA Insurance Board and yes, i have to do the external appeal (which will be denied as they are still with Highmark). THey cannot tell COokson (the company ) to pay. I mean i guess they could but won't. Then i can appeal to the HR dept.
My question to you as you seem incredibly knowledgeable here, i finally was able to get the PPO agreement and there are some "gray areas".
Do you know of any cases that "bariatric surgery is required by law"?
Do you know of local NJ attorneys who deal with Bariatric Appeals or where to find one?
Thanks again
Catherine

Topic: In the "never in a MILLION YEARS would I ever think I would do this" category
As I mentioned in a pervious post I am in Las Vegas so yesterday I did something I never thought I would .... no I didn't get married or hit a large jackpot but I jogged the entire Las Vegas strip. I hear it's about 4 miles one way so did approx 8. It took about 2 hours and I began at 4:30 am to avoid the heat.
The reason I am posting this is not too toot my own horn but to stress to everyone when you think something is impossible know anything is possible- even the unimaginable. It may take a while but know YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
Ok while my phone may be smart the user isn't, so please excuse typeos either self induced or by autocorrect.

Topic: RE: Revision Surgery Needed.....
I haven't been on this board in soooo long, but saw your situation Kimi and hope that you are doing well with your decisions. Isn't it just strange all this journey and re-journey? I had my 18 mo appointment today and with my depression of gaining 11 lbs my Dr is suggesting the band as a revision to my RNY go figure. I am so depressed about it all you can't imagine. but then I am sure you do know how I feel. You have been with me on my journey from day one, and now I am here crying in my milk again. He thinks I have an enlarged stoma. I don't have any of the full sensation and of course I have picked up eating things like popcorn (fat free), and peanut butter preztles...not good carbs. I joined a gym so I am trying to get the excersise in too. I just can't see going through another surgery. I was convinced the next surgery would be to remove my stomach skin, not to have another tool installed. YIKES this is so messed up. Like Tom C says, I just need to forget the mistakes and get back on track, but I am so down about it.

Chuck and Tom,
I have not picked any dates or times and the idea was to get as many people floating in as we could so that people would be up and moving. I was really thinking early morning on a Saturday or Sunday every week or every other week and then maybe one night a week but I would need help to go as a trail leader since I have so many other commitments but I thought this could be a family event since I have such an issue with childcare...
Let me know your thoughts...

Topic: RE: NE GOOD PLASTIC SURGEONS IN NJ ??
I used Dr. Fodera in Florham Park, he was great!!! I happened to be the 50% that had an issue (no fault of him) and he handled it so well. I have the whole story behind my plastics on my blog.
I had a LBL and his office really helped me get some of it paid by my insurance company as well as they were there to answer all my questions, as recent as a few weeks ago when I had an infection in one of my incision lines. I can not say enough good things about him and his office, Dee is his right hand was so nice and really made me feel like I was a human and not a paycheck ~ when I went to a few other offices for consults I felt like a payday and not a person.
I will say, if I had one piece of advice to offer... wait till you are at a point where you are done getting rid of your excess weight, your results will be so much better. I have seen people who did not wait and their results are less than impressive.
Good luck, feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
