Thank you so much for the support. I feel blind here. I am post op right now. I had my surgery Monday and the worst was the first two days, but I am feeling better today. I have to see my doc tomorrow because I may have an infection by my port. It is red, swollen and hot. He would need to give me some antibiotics. I hope that would be all I need. It is very painful at the site. I will keep in touch.

Are you talking about Dr. Devang Patel?  He is a gastroenterologist located on Oak Tree Road in So. Plainfield.

Stacy,

My first advice RELAX. I know, better said than done. Know there will be ups and downs during this journey, but the ups will outweigh the downs. Also remember, we’ll always be here for you if you need us.

As for what to take to the hospital, one thing highly recommend by many is Chapstick. You favor pillow, maybe a fan, etc. Think of it as a hotel stay, but with terrible room service ;D

ADVICE WARNING: TALK TO THE DOCTOR/NUTRITIONISTS BEFORE INCREASING /CHANGE YOUR INTAKE

Here are some PROGRESSION SUGGESTIONS.

You rock Kimi! Congratulations!

I ate hard boiled egg mashed up with a little lf mayo, salt and pepper; creamy chicken ff soup, applesauce; greek yogurt with mashed banana; friendship 1 percent whipped cottage cheese; tuna ground with a handblender and mixed with mayo; baked mild white fish; pureed turkey chili; and lots of sf pudding and jello.

Best of luck to you dear! Hope to see you soon!

Congrats to you!  I think making the choice is the biggest step, after that it is done it is pretty much a hurry up and wait game to get to the OR.

Tom C. has a great listing of all the support groups in the state but if you every have a specific question and can not make it to a meeting just post it here and we will answer...

I am a nut and just re-read what you posted, do you have some specific questions already??  IF so feel free to PM me or e-mail me..

Good luck, I have to tell you having RNY was the single best thing I have ever done in my life (minus my daughter) and I would do it over in a heart beat !
