he did my RnY laporoscopic surgery when he was @ Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. I was high risk - he is an amazing surgeon, you are in good hands with him! He saved my life!!! My actual surgeon was Dr. Dempsey, who did not do lap but only open surgery. Dr. Patel was able to do the surgery laporascopically, no complications. If Amanda and Dawn are still with Dr. Patel you will have one amazing experience.

Don't sweat it. If it goes anything like mine did, it was just pointless. They ask a million questions going back to your childhood. I'm not an open person so I was not happy answering them and I left there thinking they were the ones that needed to be examined, lol. They will also ask how/what you current living situations are and whatnot. Again...don't sweat it.

Hi Pointbeach! Best of luck with your journey! I wish my procedure was before Christmas. All the temptations, ugh. But I'm in countdown phase and cannot wait! I'm anxious myself so I would say it is definitely normal to be excited and scared. But think of the positives... A NEW YEAR...A NEW YOU!!! That's been my positive thought that eases me when I'm having negative thoughts or worries.

Went to my 1st weight management appointment at Penn last Thursday ,everything went well but I am nervous about the shrink.i have never been to one I consider myself stable and responsible ,I am just a little freaked about it.What should I expected?

WELCOME!! I didnt have my VSG yet but I will on 12/5. My surgeon is Dr. Garrison through St. Clairs in Dover. he also has an ofifce in Montclair. Sorry to hear about the band. I almost picked the band but after doing so much research the sleeve is best for me. I picked Garrison also because he takes my Ins, I have Aetna. Good luck and keep us posted.
