No one is a bigger inspiration than you! Not only because you have lost so much, but because you are always so generous with your time and expertise. You've done more to encourage weight loss than Jenny Craig and Jean Neiditch combined!
You will do your couch to 5K, and then you will join me at a future marathon. If you ever want to meet up at Horseshoe lake for a walk, I'll be there with bells on.
hugs to you Tom,

I was so inspired by you in Chick Soup. Just getting up there and singing your heart out and owning that stage! Anyone could see that you felt real joy performing that night, and I'm so impressed by your talent and chutzpah!
I want to be the one to write the book or movie about your life. You are amazing!
>>> My biggest concern is being committed and mentally tough enough <<< … When I think of committed and mental, you’re the first person who comes to mind
I have NO DOUBT you will be able to do this.
It took strength to admit you had a problem you can’t control. It took strength to decide to have an operation. It took strength to do what was needed before and after the operation to be successful. It took strength to say “I need help" when you needed it. So you KNOW YOU have the strength, now you need to call on it again for this.
Know I will be there if you need!! I envy you. Maybe one day I’ll be able to do something like this too.

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight” The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet

The Bariatric Center support group meets in Plainfield on the campus of Muhlenberg Hospital. Our next meeting is this Thursday, Aug. 19th at 5:30. We would be happy to have you join us.
You can buy scales anywhere, really... I bought mine at BJs Wholesale.
It has some bells and whistles but nothing too complicated. A friend of
mine recently bought a scale that tells the percent of body fat. Heck, you
can hit up a Walmart and buy a decent scale for a few bucks.
Now that that is out of the way....FIND A SUPPORT GROUP!
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of having support today, tomorrow and down the road -- people who understand and can inspire, motivate and be a positive influence on your journey!!
Continued success...

As for protein, it's ultra important. And in the next few months you'll hear everyone tell you theirs is 'the best'. Its an individual thing. If it helps: I've heard good things about the Walmart brand as well; if you join GNC, you can buy protein powders and if you don't like them, you can return them (find out more at your local GNC 'cause I'm not really sure the details!).
Good luck!!
