Got an email from my friends at the Banding Centers of America in Florham Park. They are sponsoring a "Bariatric Cooking Class and Ask The Dietitian" night Wed. Oct 13th. Class runs from 6:30 to 8:30. A free bariatric friendly meal and free dietitian consult...I am so there.
I'm told seating is limited...twenty or so seats left. You need to register so call 866 976 9735.

Thank you. I was just going to ask about the pre-op testing. I haven't done that yet, and when Robin asked me if that was done when she scheduled me ..she said " oh ok, we will get that done. " But WHEN!? I will call and ask to speak with Maria tomorrow. I actually have my Consent Class tomorrow evening. What happens there?? I'm scheduled to meet with the surgeon on friday to sign the consent forms. I already have a major feeling that they are going to reschedule me...it doesn't seem like they know what the other is doing. Do you go to any support meetings? I think I would benefit from going after my surgery. Thanks again for all the info!!

I was on the 2 week diet but the NUT went over that with me when I met with her. Also you need to be off NSAIDs and hormones 2 weeks prior to surgery. You should have a consent class meeting and then an apt with a surgeon to go over any questions you have and actually sign the consent form.
I am almost 8 months post op so haven't had to deal with them much recently but as long as I called on days they were in the office, during office hours, the phone was always answered.
Unless you bring it up they may not realize you haven't done what you are suppose to and reschedule you so I would call back and bring up these questions with Maria the nurse.
Robin's job is to book the surgeries and keep the schedule full with insurance approval NOT all the patient pre op details.
