Topic: I've been off OH for a bit... IGT???

HI ALl,  I've been off OH for a while, and am now trying to log on more often...   Has anyone in North Jersey had an IGT lately  ?  (Inconvenient Get Togethers)  It was always so beneficial to do the diner dinners and meet everyone and come away with a renewed sense.  I scrolled thru a few pages, but didn't see any of the old familar names...sigh...  ope Tom and all are doing well.    Mary

Topic: WSL is NOT the easy way out, but it is an awesome tool.

Before my surgery I fought with myself feeling like a failure for not being able to lose weight and keep it off on my own and thought I was taking the easy way out by going for VSG. Well during the pre op diet and now being 12 days post op i can say this is no easy way it has been challenging but also has shown me how far off i was was from ever reaching my weight loss goals. After VSG i have had my up and down days (not emotionally but frustration and boredom with the liquid diet) I even cheated off the liquid diet and tried some Ritz crackers. I have eaten to quickly, not followed the guidelines for post op and drank too soon after eating. And now on day 12 I look at myself  and have decided that I must be disciplined and determined if this is going to work. I love a challenge and if you love a challenge and are willing to get knock down and get back up again and fight harder than before than WSL can help you to lose weight ad change you life. Remember the surgeon can fix your stomach but you have to fix your mind. Good luck to us all!!

Topic: RE: picking out my surgeon

I had looked at NJBC and they were ok but I felt like they were just trying to process me and were not interested in helping decide which surgery would be best for me with my pre op med conditions. I ultimately went with Dr. Ayotunde Adeyeri out of Centra State Medical Center in Freehold. I know it may seem far but it was worth the drive his bedside manner and the caring team in his office did not treat me like a dollar sign and now my  wife is going to use him as well. I hope this helps god luck.

Topic: I am so thrilled that I had plastic surgery after weight loss

Hi everyone - I just wanted to post a little inspiration for my Jersey girls. I moved out of the state last year but before I did -- right before I did -- I had a tummy tuck and monsplasty in April with Dr. Joseph F. Capella in Ramsey NJ. It made a HUGE difference, as I lost that huge hanging pannus and mons, and rolls of belly skin. I went from a size 14 jeans being tight to a size 8 jeans. Dr. Capella made my tummy tight as a drum. You may go to my profile page for links to my photo albums to see before and after photos.

So thrilled was I with my results that I decided to do all of me. I went back to Dr. Capella in October and he converted the tummy tuck to a lower body lift, did a medial thigh lift and monsplasty, an extended arm lift, and a breast lift. I am now in size 2 jeans. In total I lost 50 inches and 40 pounds.I am thrilled that I had body contouring with Dr. Capella. He did an absolutely amazing job. He has done more than 10,000 procedures!

I hit the jackpot a second time when I went to Dr. Catherine Winslow in Carmel, IN for my facial rejuvenation. I am completely impressed with her work, and I absolutely love that she gave me back a matured version of the face I had in high school. She did an amazing job of getting rid of my saggy jowels and neck that made me look like I had a St. Bernard's face. I have not found any surgeon's facial work to be as good as Dr. Winslow's work. She has done more than 1000 face lifts!

BTW I had my weight loss surgery in 2003 with Dr. Vishal Mehta.

Joseph Capella MD and Catherine Winslow MD must have used their magic scalpels during my plastic surgeries.

The before photo was taken in March 2013 and the after photo was taken in March 2014. What a difference!

What doctor in New Brunswick did you use? I have the same insurance and am having trouble finding a doctor?

Topic: Anyone Pre-op near Montclair, NJ? Supplies free to a good home!

I have a bag full of items I didn't use- soups, jello, protein etc. Some I just don't like or don't like post surgery. I don't want it to go to waste!
