Hello, My name is Jill, and I live in Monmouth County, NJ. I have finally made the decison to have weight loss surgery after a long battle with my weight, and I need your help.... I am looking for a bariatric surgeon that is an in-network Aetna participant. I am not getting much help from Aetna, so any advice would be appreciated. Thank you! Jill

Hi Jill, I just had the Lap Band done on 4/25. I also have Aetna and live in Monmouth County. My surgeon was Dr. Iannace from Hackensack. A bit of a ride but worth it. He is in the Aetna network.

hi jill my husband and i are using Matt Kirkland in Phila - i have aetna and he is in network -- did you already go thru your PCP and do a 6 month dr supervised diet?? and aetna will also ask for 2 years of office notes on obesity -- the 6 month diet was over in no time -- it sounded daunting at first but i made it -- my paperwork just went into aetna hopefully yesterday good luck Roberta

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much everyone for your responses!! I really appreciate the fact that people are actually NICE out there!!! I have made up my mind that this is right for me....my primary care doctor is very supportive and can supply "years" of obesity notes. I hope that Aetna will approve..that seems to be half the battle. Also, now that I've made up my mind, I want a surgery date like yesterday!!! I will keep you posted as to the status of things. PS. Has anyone heard of Dr. Ballyntine in Hackensack? He was another recommendation, and is in the Aetna network???? I welcome any and all comments. please! Jill
