Support Groups

I'm looking for support group meetings in Monmouth or Ocean County areas of New Jersey. Can anyone tell me where and when there might be something going on?Thanks, Kathryn

Monmouth Medical Center has a support group on the fourth Thursday of every month from 7-9pm. The next meeting is on May 25th. YOu can preregister by calling 1-888-724-7123

I too would be interested in anything in Ocean County ... I just had my RNY surgery in Morristown Hospital on 5/1/06 and live in Lakewood NJ. I know that others from Ocean county ... met someone in pre-op meeting were from Brick, NJ. Please let me know. Michael Rosen, Lakewood, NJ.

There is an Ocean County WLS Support Group that meets in both Toms River and in Lakewood -- The Toms River Meeting is the first Friday of each month at Community Medical Center in Auditorium A -- 7-9pm -- The next meeting is June 2nd. The Lakewood meeting is the third Thursday of each month at Kimball's Center for Healthy Living - 198 Prospect St -- 7-9pm. The next meeting is May 18th. there if a group that meets in Toms river at Community medical center every Thursday at 7:00 to 9:00 in one of the conferance room only the people that are post Bariatric surgery the first hour is for less then 3 months post -op all others are invited to attend the full meeting I attend every week that is possible hope to see you there there is also another group that meets the first Friday of each month same time and place I have had more problems due to conflict in attending that meeting this meeting has less requirements

Is it OK to attend this weekly meeting as I had surgery 1 week ago ... so I guess that it is appropriate for post Bariatric surgery ... but is it for just the local surgeons? I had my surgery in Morristown Hospital. Please let me know as I would like to attend this Thursday 5/11. Thanks for your reply. Michael

the meeting on thursday is for any one who had the surgery the first hour is for all and the seconf hour is post surgery greater then 3 months hope all is going well laura

Hi Kathryn, You can also check out Mehta Bariatric Center Support Group in Toms River (which is open to everyone regardless of your surgeon). They are held the 3rd Monday of every month at the HOLIDAY INN TOMS RIVER 290 HWY 37 E. Toms River, NJ Monday, May 15, 2006 Monday, June 19, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm Lots of luck to you! ~Kristin
