Mom had the surgery...

I left mom at the hospital about an hour ago. Surgery took longer than expected, about 5 hours. Then another 1 1/2 waiting to be sent to recovery. Mom is expected to come home on Friday, pending no complications. She said she felt like an 18 wheeler hit her, but more sore than actual pain. I saw the laproscopy bandages, six total, no redness at all. I feel bad that her surgeon (Dr. Washington) won't even allow ice chips. I am guessing that may slow healing. I will check in periodically with updates and Mom with let you know once she is up and about. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers - Sam and Marianne

Thanks for keeping us posted Sam -- I'll let the OCWLS group know tonight when I see them in Lakewood. No ice chips till after the leak test is not totally unusual. Give me a buzz, if you guys need anything and continue keeping us posted. Hugs, Nannette
