Support Groups on South Jersey

Hi! My name is Jaime and I will be having my surgery on April 18, 2006. I am looking for a good support group in Southern NJ. I live in Gloucester County... I have been looking with no luck! I am hoping that maybe someone out there can help! I am also open to any advice pre, and post op. I am excited and very nervous...trying to stay positive...

Hello and welcome, Unfortunately there is only one support group that I know of and that is in Pitman NJ. It is called the South Jersey Bariatric Support System it meets Every other Friday @ 7:00 PM there next meeting is on April 14. They are held at the Church of the Nazarene on 227 Broadway/Main Street in Pitman, NJ. There is no Fee and it is a casual & friendly environment with lots of nice people both pre and post op. Hi Jaime!! Congratulations on your surgery. Good Luck and Happy thoughts for your success!! There is a support group meeting the fourth Wednesday of every month in Vineland NJ. I think it's great and I've been to a few other meetings. If you take route 55 south, I'm not sure of the exit number...it says Bridgeton, South Jersey hospital, Cumberland County Community College...follow that to the light and the building is on your left, it's at the fitness connection on the second floor at 7pm. There is a support group in Collingwood on Haddon Ave at the Lady of Lourdes Wellness Center. I THINK they have them every other Thursday but Im not sure. I do not have the number but you should be able to get it from 411 or the phone book. Good luck with your surgery!!! Hugs, Dawn

Hi Jaime... I posted last night with the meeting at the fitness connection. It is exit #29. If you get off there go to the end of the ramp make a right towards Vineland. Go two lights and it is on the left side. Good luck!! Shaun
