Hi, I am scheduled for surgery on the 31st. I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced hair loss and what has helped. My hair is already short and thin and I am little concerned. Thanks, Ana

My hair loss and breakage was terrible. I had to resort to wigs, and weaves, but at 10 months its coming back...but I hate that in between phase.

My hair was normally thin. It "thinned out" but didn't fall out. Stick to lots of protein & water. It will grow back. Aliya, haven't seen you in awhile...you look WONDERFUL!!! Amy

Now here is a topic everyone has a different oppinion on.. Protein I believe is partially to blame but mostly it is caused by stress. Your body will react to stress differently everytime.. but I truly believe it is stress and anitesia (cannot spell ... too early). Nothing really works but time. Good luck and have a safe journey.

Hi Ana, I had my surgery 3/30/05. I did have hair loss/thinning between 5-7 mos out. I upped my protein and took a supplement for hair, skin, & nails with biotin in it. Although everyone worries about this, it is temporary. I did get a shorter haircut, whiched helped me and now my hair has grown back fuller than before. Good luck with your journey! Hi my name id Diana and Im about 4 months post-op. My hairs is coming out alot and I was starting to worry. I know it is to be expected but all my life i have been known to have beautiful hair. That was the only thing I could ever count on getting a compliment on. I have had alot of problems tollerating protein shakes, drinks, bars etc... It's not noticeable to anyone, but myself though. any suggestions??

It's been 4 months since I had my surgery my hair started thinning badly in the 3rd month I'm taking biotin 2500 mg for skin hair and nails. I got me a really chic short hair cut it's very becoming it goes with my shrinking body(LOL)..... So if it's still thinning it's not noticable I suggest that u take your vitamins and also get some biotin from GNC and find yourself a great hairdresser who can cut hair. It will grow back I was worried too at first but the weight loss is wonderful I'm down from 289lbs to 210lbs...
