Surgeons and Insurance

Hello. Does anyone know what surgeons accept BCBS insurance. I want to have lap band surgery Thanks

I have bc/bs federal...I go to Dr. Washington in Freehold....but when I checked with bc/bs they would not pay for a lapband. They sent me a letter that they will pay for a bypass..I am biting my nails waiting for approval as I finished everything.. good Luck Marianne

My Dr's group accepts it. I have BCBS Horizon. The name of the practice is Advanced Laproscopic Assoc. Hackensack NJ (Bergen Co) Dr. Trivedi, Schmidt & Ewing. I know it is a distance but they take that insurance. Lynn

Heck.. my surgery was in Iowa ayy (think Corn, silos, and hogs, state fairs, tornados... ummm yeahhhhh) Hackensack from Ocean County (comparitively) is a walk in the park. ) Hey Lynn.. can you come to the Ocean County Toms River Support Group in Toms River (at Community Hospital, Rte 37, Meeting Room A, Toms River, 7pm, Friday March 10th). I have BCBS and I had lap band surgery done in November. They initially denied me because I was not consistently obese (lost 70 pounds about 4 years ago - then gained it all back) for 5 years. My doctor appealed and it was overturned. My surgeon, Dr. Jean Baptiste is affiliated with Fares Surgical in Robbinsville, NJ. Jenn Y.
