Has any one ever been approved for tummy tuck or breast lift through insurance. I can`t believe people have to mortgage their homes to get to the finish line. Please send me your doc`s name if they fought for you.

I've been told that if the doctor can verify that a tummy tuck is medically necessary, because of sores or other problems, that insurance will pay for that.It depends on your insurance, though.(I'm not sure about the boob job)

Most plastic surgeons don't want to be bothered by insurance. What is your insurance company's criteria for surgery. You can usually find it on their website by searching under abdomniplasty. My PS submitted for a abdomniplasy along with four months worth of documentation from my PCP about rashes under my panni, and Aetna approved it. I actually had a lower body lift, but my PS didn't charge me any extra. A breast lift is usually much harder, if not impossible to get covered unless you are also having breast reduction too. Check out my profile, there is lots of info there on my plastics. Good luck Nannette
