My new stomach

I am one week post -op RNY and have in the last 2 days transitioned from a full liquid diet to eating some soft food protein such as fish, chicken. Nothing else yet - no veggies, carbs, ect. just pure lean protein. My concern is that I am NOT having very much trouble taking the food - which is the opposite of many of the stories I have heard, such as not being able to tolerate more than 1 ounce at a time, vomiting, very uncomfortable feelings. I get the full fluids in per day, and have had no ill effects. Has anyone out there had a very easy transition, or should I be concerned that this is not going to give me the WL results I need. Thanks for your experiences.

I, too, had a very easy transition. Though, I will caution you to make very very sure you chew everything to death . . . I'll never forget the first time I got something stuck. Its hurts like the dickens. Even now, 3 years out, every once in a while I forget and inhale my food, and sure enough I'll get something stuck . . .not fun. As far as getting sick to my stomach, not once, and I'm 3 years out and at goal. But then I always did have a cast iron stomach!

i HAD A VERY EASY TIME AS WELL. I DID MAKE SURE TO CHEW,CHEW,CHEW TO APPLESAUCE CONSISTENCY. I ATE AND STILL DO UNTIL I HAVE A SLIGHT FULL FEELING. I HAVE NEVER THROWN UP, VERY LITTLE NAUSA AT ALL I HAVE BEEN VERY BLESSED! MY SISTER HAD A VERY HARD TIME WITH THE EATING AND HAS HAD A HECK OF A TIME NOW FINALLY AT 4 MONTHS OUT SHE IS FINALLY ABLE TO GET FOOD DOWN AND HER SHAKES IN FORTHE PROTEIN. MY ADVICE IS TAKE IT SLOW INTRODUCE ONE NEW FOOD AT A TIME SO IF SOMETHING DOES BOTHER YOU YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS AND YOU WAIT AWHILE ON IT AGAIN. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU HAPPY CHEWING! jOYCE
