North Jersey - Lighter for Life Support Group Meeting

Monday, February 13th is our next Lighter For Life support group meeting at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital. Everyone is welcome - both pre-op and post-op, regardless of surgeon or procedure. This month we are pleased to have Valerie Wood of The Willow Health & Wellness Center, LLC as our guest speaker. Ms. Wood will speak on the important subject of Relapse Prevention and Recovery. Valerie Wood is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with extensive experience in the treatment of eating problems, and a pioneer in the treatment of psychological aspects of weight-loss surgery. Ms. Wood emphasizes an early-intervention model, and utilizes both individual and group treatment to achieve client goals. Ms. Wood has been published in professional magazines, and presented at national conferences. Ms. Wood has been featured as a guest expert on eating problems on television and radio talk shows. She is member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, and a member and co-chairperson for the Bergen NJ unit of The National Association of Social Workers . Ms. Wood is currently a Professor at Bergen Community College in the department of Social Science, and teaches Sociology and Counseling Psychology at Thomas Edison State College. Yes! We are on for tonight. I am here at work, had no trouble getting here. As far as I can tell, by where I've driven, there isn't really any problem with roads. I spoke with Valerie Wood just a little while ago and she is ready. Hope you can make it, too! Irene
