Well folks, my husband has hopped on the weight loss bandwagon! He is about 11 days post op. Of course, being a man, he has already lost 30 + pounds!! I am very excited for him, and for us as a couple! I am 7 1/2 months out and doing very well. Just wanted to see if anyone knows any other couples who have gone through this change together. Thanks! Hi Rossana, You look great!!! Congrats on your husband joining you with your journey! Did he have band or bypass? I had the same surgeon as you. My surgery was 3/30/05. I see you at the monthly meetings when I am able to attend. Keep up the good work!! My husband has always been a string bean so I can't say he has joined me, but he supports me 110%. See you soon! Dear Rossana - Congratulations to both you and your husband! I am glad he is doing well. I replied to your post right before his surgery, but it never updated. I am so glad all is OK. We are a WLS "couple" My husband Phil "went first" and is 6 months out before me! The change is strange and exciting. We are very much enjoying the new people our bodies have become after 23 yrs of marriage! Wishing you both all the best! Sherri

Congrats on your success as a WLS couple! I have a question for you...DH and I are doing WLS together. He is currently scheduled to go four weeks before me. Do you think this is enough time? You said you had six months between surgeries but we'd like to do it closer together so we can share the same diet. I may be enlisting help from my mother to stay with us for a few days after each of our surgeries but otherwise we'd be on our own. Any insight you may have is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Anne

Dear Anne, I went back to work ( desk job ) after 2 weeks. ( I wouldn't do it again though!) Week 3 and four, I was able to function - but needed to take a nap and went to bed early. Do you have any children to take care of - or is it just the 2 of you? If it's just you 2 - I don't think it will be a problem - just you won't have the energy for things like laundry and house work. 4 week is kind of close, but why don't you wait and see how your husband is feeling - I would think you could post-pone for a week = but I don't think you would really have to -- Keep me posted OK - Best of Luck to you both - you are in great hands! Take care, Sherri

It's just us, no kiddies. That's good to know. We've been mulling over whether I need to take off the entire week that he's home or arrange to work remotely, or get help, or all of the above. I just might push my surgery out further. I think it'll depend on whether one or both of us have to fight insurance too; if I get approved first, then he's waiting Thanks for the advice! I see you used the same practice...we've heard many good things and have been very impressed so far with everyone in the office and with our doc. Cheers, Anne
