Just decided to go through with it - worried about AETNA
Hi,
I just made what I consider to be a very good decision. I am little concerned about the approval process. I read some of the comments regarding approval but I wanted to hear from those who have had recent experiences. I believe all my documentation is solid and I hoping all goes smoothly. I'll be 40 in August and would love to give myself the gift of a new body.
Thanks.

Hello...First I have to say that you couldn't have picked a better surgeon. He treated me with the utmost respect and I am forever grateful to him for saving my life.
I do not have Aetna, but I have to say that the approval process is different for everyone. I was denied the first time and had to provide a written history of all my diets and eating habits for my entire life. It was tedious but the hard work paid off. If they deny you the first time, just do what they ask....but one thing that I have learned through this is that the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Don't wait for them to send you letters. Call them and stay on top of the situation to let them know you are being proactive. ****The one and only drawback about Michael Bilof is the office staff***. Theresa (office manager for Bilof) did NOT tell me that I had been initially denied...even went as far as to tell me that they had never heard back from the insurance company. I called the insurance THAT day and they told me they were getting ready to dump my claim because they had never heard from me concerning the initial denial. SO STAY ON TOP OF THE INSURANCE AND THE OFFICE STAFF. Good luck to you!!
PS--It's kinda gross, but Dr. Bilof gives you pictures of what he has done after the surgery....I thought it was really neat...
