Revision Surgeon?

I had a stomach stapling by Dr. Robert Greenstein at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan in 1997, and a revision to a gastric bypass with Dr. Rafael Capella of Ramsey, NJ in April of 2000. I now feel that I may need a further revision, and he is not in my current insurance plan, St. Barnabas HealthCare Plan. They have presented me with a Dr. in Orange,NJ named DuChiene, and another in Shrewsbury, named Borao. Does anyone have any experience with either of these guys? Has anyone had revision surgery with someone in the Barnabas plan? Has anyone had revision surgery they were really pleased with? Thanks- Jim.

Go with Dr Borao - hands down. I have a very good friend who is one of his patients, and very, very pleased. I dont know specifically about his revision experience, but has loads of primary experience. There is also Dr Bilof at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and Dr.Fetia at Union Hospital, Union New Jersey. All in the SBHCS plan, though the last 2 I dont personnally know much about, but have heard good things. My only caution is that Borao's office staff is a little lacking in common sence sometimes. If you get the run around - demand to speak to the DR. directly. Good luck!
