Hi everyone!
Hi Lisa,
Preop jitters were normal for me. I kept thinking I might back out right up until the moment they put me under in the operating room.
I also had a period of time about three weeks before surgery when I was sure I was going to be one of the statistics. I called my sister (who also had surgery over a year ago) and she said that happened to her too, and the closer she got to surgery the more calm she became (at least up until the day of surgery!)
Good luck on your surgery! Dont sweat the jitters. It is a major change and worth a few jitters.

Hi Patti,
I can totally relate to what you said about how you thought you were going to be a statistic..Last week I was convinced that I should write goodbye letters to everyone just in case because I really thought I wouldnt pull through..but this week for some reason I just feel so much better-The holistic health nurse at the hospital when I went for pre admin testing said something that makes sense--if you think negatively, negative things will happen..you have to think positive..and that is where I am right now..trying sooo hard to think positively!! Thanks so much for wishing me luck =)
Hi-thanks!! Yes Dr Slotman is in Cherry Hill, and I know exactly who you are talking about!! Her name is Dawn, we have exchanged a few emails and she is such a sweetheart! I'm going to be in Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden..My insurance only covered certain docs, and the other two were awful..Dr Slotman is a blessing! such an experienced doctor and im totally comfortable with him.
Hi Lisa - Keep up that POSITIVE thinking! I wish you much success as you begin your journey to the new you!
If you worry about following all the rules that will come along with your new "tool" ( little pouch tummy) - remember the words that have helped me to pass on things I should not be eating - to quote Susan Maria ( from Bariatriceating.com) " Nothing tastes as good as thin feels! "
All the best to you!
