Just wanted to let everyone know about this GREAT product I finally found to help increase my protein intake. It is called PROFECT made by a company called PROTICA. They advertise on this website all the time. In fact that is how I came across it. I have ordered and tried EVERY protein product out there known to man, most of which are horrible tasting or not fit for human consumption. I ordered the sample pack whi*****ludes 4 vials and each vial has 25 grams of protein. You can drink it alone or mix it with something else. It is truly great! Here is the link to get to the website. www.Protica.com TRY it You will love it! It has saved my life, bc I have been having such a difficult time with my protein intake since my surgery five months ago. Lisa

Hi Lisa, I am also 5 month out and having a terrible time getting in all of my protein. Mom of 2 young girls and making the shakes just isn't fitting into my schedule. Can you get the vials down in 1 gulp, or is it more than that? Do they really taste all that great, or are they just not as bad as all the rest? I've tried everyone on the market also and have found that they all just taste like liquid meat. YUCK!!!! Any info you have would be a great help. Thank you in advance for your help, Jen from NJ.

Hi Jen, Where in NJ r u from? I too am in NJ. Brick, it is south near the shore. Anyway The vials are a little bigger than a gulp maybe two or three gulps. Tell you the truth I usually mix them with something else like OJ and water or snapple and water. I found that orange juice usually masks the overbaring taste of protein. The flavors are not bad if you just want to gulp the vial down. It is by far the best tasting one out there that I have tried and believe me I have tried just about ALL of them. I had ordered the sampler pack with the 4 flavors in it. They were all tasty and could easily be masked if you didn't like the flavor that much. Since my surgery I have had such a difficult time getting in my protein. I still can not eat chicken, meat or fish so my protein intake consists mainly from cheese, eggs, and these vials of profect. I did order a creamy chicken soup that has 15 grams of protein in each packet and it was tolerable in small doses but not something I would eat on its own. I usually have to mix it with something to be able to eat it. You can order the vials one at a time if you don't want to buy the 4 pack but I am gald I did b/c it gave me the chance to sample all of the flavors they had and pick my favorite! (which happens to be thee out of the four!)

Hey, Jen... I don't "cook", never did, and from the start I knew mixing protein shakes was not going to be in the cards for me. I hated the lumps and the hassle and mess of mixing at work. I use Worldwide Pure Protein shakes, they are pre-made in a can, about 35 g of protein a piece, and you can get them at the Vitamine Shoppe or (slightly higher price) at GNC. People tend to affiliate with a certain flavor, for this brand I like the strawberry. Keep it SUPER cold, do NOT shake it (I 'roll' it on the counter or table first), and now that I am almost two years out, I have no trouble drinking it through a straw and that makes it easier.. if you can't use a straw I recommend pouring it on ice and adding a little water to make it thinner. Still my favorite option for breakfast. Jen M

I'm always interested in new protein out there as I'm almost 2 yrs PO.....I'm wondering if you can buy this in a retail store, like Vitamin Shoppe or GNC? Thanks, Wendy 3/15/04 278/188/150

Hi Wendy, I spoke with a representative from Protica and so far it is not available in stores. I was told we can recommend their product to different stores such as GNC or VitaminShopp so they can stock it for theri customers but for right now you can only purchase through the www.protica.com website. I will tell you it is worth every penny spent. Especially when you can not get enough protein in from eating food and need to supplement with liquid forms ie: shakes, fruit drinks, soups etc. It is by far the best one I have tasted so far. I mix it with OJ and water or snapple and water. You can hardly taste it at all when it is mixed with something. But even drinking it straight out of the vial really cold is fine also, it is just a bit tart that way and since my stomach is still so sensitive I prefer to dilute things. Best of luck to you! Lisa
