drainage tube?

drainage tube? i was told this would be taken out before leaving the hospital - is this true please advise? - Jo

I know what you mean! I am going to be looking into plastic surgery soon and will have to face this. You always come home with drains with many plastic surgeries. Better start getting over my EWWWWWies.. Best wishes to you for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! Irene

mine came home with me for about 1 week and 1/2 to two weeks i drained it myself it was not a problem..just a little gross at time..but that thing helps with fluid buildup i know my surgeon doesn't like to take them out too soon

My surgeon says we have to have the drainage tube for about a week,****il the first post-op visit).

I think those who are sent home with the drain had their surgery open.. Dr G doesn't do open unless they he absolutely has to.. You have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.. What a great present you are getting.. just sit back and let the dr do the work.. . Donna
