I have BCBS NJ Plus I am not too sure if it is the same as Direct Access, some of the names have changed. I had no problem getting approval. It was approved within a week of it being submitted.
I also have NJ Plus. My first surgery was approved with no problems. My revision was denied as not medically necessary. Had to appeal and finally won. Had to wait a year for the surgery from my revision consultation.
