Kinda OT-Life Changes Post-Surgery

I have been reflecting about the changes in my life after surgery, and it really is astounding. I know one of the things that one should be aware of pre-op is that the surgery will not "fix" your life problems. But for me, the self-confidence I have gained has really assisted me making big changes in my life. 1. Relationship-I was in a horrible strange relationship for 4 years that was going no where, now I've found true love! 2. Job-I was underpaid and underappreciated. Now I work in a new law firm, and I feel like I have so much more respect as an attorney. 3. Social-I was just offered a position on the Board of Directors of the Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ. I dreamed about an opportunity like that since I was 21! I am sorry I wasn't able to attend the December Toms River meeting I hope to be at January! Thanks for listening, Angela 450 (highest weight)/370 (wt at surgery)/198/180 (drs goal)

Congratulations on your terrific weight loss, and all the changes you've been able to set in motion! I know what you mean, the weight loss itself isn't the answer to the problems, but it sure is a huge catalyst to *letting* us make the changes. For myself, even thought I was "confident" (or so I thought) I feel worlds more comfortable now, which enables me to put myself out there a little more and interact with people differently. Way to go!! Your neighbor in NJ and February pal, Marie 297/182-1/2 / goal 150-ish

Hi Angela I have to say I absolutely agree with you- yes it is only a tool but in more ways than I could have ever imagined- It is so much easier now to say "no" and feel ok about it. Best of luck and keep up the good work! Dee

WTG Angela! Weight is the cause of our problems and that's why when we have WLS everthing else falls into place. Enjoy your new life! Teru 245/227/150
