New here and looking for advice!!

Hi. I am 37 years old and live in So. New Jersey. Just started research for band surgery. I have been overweight since the 4th grade w/ many ups and downs. Am currently about 50 pounds overweight and am very interested in seeing if I might be a candidate for this surgery. Any advice will be helpful to me and I will be most appreciative. I carry Aetna medical insurance. Thanks in advance for any information!!

I am waiting for Dr JP to submit my pre-detremination paperwork and get insurance approval before I can have a surgery date... Thank you for such a wonderful site. Very good and helpful information. I am scheduled for surgery on 12/22/05. There was so much needed information in this site and it answered a lot of questions for me. Hi there Neighbor, Just wanted to let you know I had the Gastric Bypass done on Jan. 4,2005 and it is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. I am 42 yrs old and have been thinking about this for a few years.........I only wish I had done it earlier!! ;o) I am know 135 lbs lighter and feel great....
