Need Support Group in Middlesex,New Jersey

Hello, I am looking for a support in or near North Brunswick New Jersey. I am waiting for approval from my insurance company ( Amerihealth). I have not decided if it will be an open or RNY bypass. Dr. Kaczmarski at the Barix Clinic in PA will perform the procedure. I would like to attend a support where I could bring my husband. He is supportive, but nervous. Thanks for your support Natalie

Hi Natalie, Mehta Bariatric Center is in East Brunswick, and they have support groups that are available to anyone. Also, there is a member here on the NJ board by the name of Kristin Szilagyi who, I believe, is very much involved with the Mehta Center (she had her surgery there and has been VERY successful). DJ, It would be easier for me to travel to a WLS ( Gastric Bypass) support group in middlesex county area, rather than travel to PA all of the time. I was looking for something local that I could attend and get feedback from others. Thanks, Natalie

There is a group going on tonight, Thursday at the East Brunswick Public Library at 7:30pm. We are a small group of wls patients. We meet in the public meeting rooms in the back of the library. Tonight we are taking a yoga class together but no all will participate. Hope you can make it. Sherri

Robert Wood Johnson Hospital has WLS support meeting once a month. My surgery is being done in Livingston,NJ at Saint Barnabas on Monday Dec. 5. I'm not sure if I'll be attending the support meetings there or at Robert Wood. I will probably go to Robert Wood since it is only 10 minutes from my home. Maybe I'll see you there!!
