Today is my one year surgery anniversary! Wow! I can't believe it's gone by so fast! I consider myself a complete success. I was off my blood pressure medication & CPAP machine within 45 days of my surgery. My knees no longer bother me. I feel better than I have in 25 years. I would like to thank my surgeon, Dr. Michael Nusbaum of South Mountain Surgical Associates in West Orange, NJ. While most surgeons *think* they are God, in my opinion, Dr. Nusbaum *is* God He's experienced, kind and if he wasn't married, I'd kiss him on the lips. I'd also like to mention that the care & attention I received at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston NJ was exemplary and outstanding. The people I work with and for at Weichert Financial Services in Morris Plains NJ have been the most supportive and compassionate people I've had the pleasure to know. From the the first minute I decided to start this journey, I've had nothing but 1001% support and kindness from everyone there. I also value the people on this board. It was invaluable to me during my research phase to come here and read and read and read. It fueled my determination to make this journey. And most of all, I'd like to thank my significant other, Bill. While I still don't think he understands why I couldn't do this on my own, he's never wavered in his support of me. He was attentive and caring after the surgery, and he's never stopped encouraging me along the way. For those of you who know my postings, you know I harp on the fact that this surgery isn't about numbers - and it isn't. I'm going to break my rule just this once and post my stats. CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING 1 YEAR POST-OP! I had my surgery 7/6/05 and I still have my ups and downs but I love the fact that there is 108 pounds less of me. Enjoy your success!
