almost a week post-op

Tomorrow will be a week since my surgery! I'm having a difficult time getting my 64oz in and I'm sick of broth! I know tomorrow I get to incorporate a few more things into my diet and it's coming nonetoosoon. I'm still fuzzy from the drugs (not sure if it's the morphine from after surgery or the stuff they gave me to reduce the stomach acids) and I'm not comfortable enough to drive which is giving me cabin fever. I went out briefly on Tuesday and wore myself out so I'm apprehensive about trying again. Any tips, comments, words of wisdom and encouragement are welcome! S

Sugar free popsicles are a good way to get some fluid in. I'm a month out today and sometimes I still have a hard time getting it all in. Take it easy and maybe try to just spend some time outside if this icky weather clears up. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Carol

I remember having difficulty getting the fluids in, just keep doing the best that you can, and don't give up. I was so fuzzy from the drugs, that I didn't drive for 12 days after the surgery. I went back to work after a week, and I couldn't focus on anything! I would wait a bit before you drive again, maybe you should just take a walk around the block and enjoy this beautiful weather if you have cabin fever. At the time I had surgery, I made my friend drive me to the store, home depot, supermarket, etc., just to walk and push a cart to get out. It really helped a lot.

Take your time....your body is in shock. The slower you drink & eat the easier it gets!!! Amy
