Support group in Gloucester County

Hello everyone. I have been having absolutely no luck in finding a support group in my area. I live in West Deptford and I have tried looking at some local hospital websites but to no avail. If someone knows of any support group in the area would you be so kind as to let me know. Thanks P.S. I need to put a new picture up on my profile and I can't remember how to do it. Can anyone help?

Hello Candice, There is a support group in Pitman at the Nazerene Church everyother Friday at 7pm. Hope you can join us.... Lu

That's great to know. I'm pre-op and I've been going to meetings in Philly, and it's such an expensive place to park. Glad to know about Pitman. Is this Friday the on week or off week? AND, are pre-ops welcome? Laurel

Candice......I am so happy to have read your post. I have been going nuts trying to find a support group for this surgery. I sure hope it's not the OA meeting in Pitman? I don't really know where it is, but I'm sure it is in the phone book. I live in Deptford Township, right around the Deptford Mall and I'm 2 weeks post op. Maybe we can e-maill each other. I was getting to the point of desperation for a support group to start one in my house. It's really hard for people who are normal size to relate to this drastic measure we have taken. It is what I have wanted for a year now and finally it is over and I am on the losing side. Lost 15 pounds so far. I know it sounds so little, but to me it is a huge accomplishment. Sure we can email each other. I have been post op for approx 8 months. I remember when I lost my first 18 lbs. It was wonderful. I wish you all the luck in the world. I know you probably cannot drive so if you would like to attend a meeting with me, I can pick you up. Here is the thing though, I am moving to FL in about a month. So, we can still keep in touch and we can still attend whatever meetings we can until I go. I will be glad to have a partner in crime. My eating has been off track lately. The mtg in Pitman is for pre & post ops and is a general discussion of questions/answer types.....great support and friendly people! We are open to pre-operative and post-operative patients of any surgeons, and also to those who are still in the researching phase of gastric bypass surgery.
