He's so influential in getting people around here to post, I just had to listen to him. I'm officially 1 week out and doing very well. I haven't had any problems. I even tried a little bit of Wendy's chili today. It has never tasted as good as it did tonight. I was happy to get something a little more solid in my belly. I tolerated it quite well too. I've been getting all of my fluids in with no trouble at all. I'm struggling with protein because even though I don't mind the kind I have, I just don't want it. I'm forcing it down for now though. I know I can't get enough in my diet yet. My taste for hot drinks is starting to return a little today. That's good because maybe I can mix some of my unflavored Designer Whey into some SF hot cocoa to make it more exciting. As of this morning, I was down 17 pounds since my surgery date. 17 pounds in one week is okay with me! With my pre-op loss of 8 pounds, I'm now down 25 altogether!! I'm so happy right now. Okay, time for some protein. Goodnight NJ Carol

Hi Carol, I use the Designer Whey, French Vanilla variety. I mix it with Lactose free skim milk, splenda and cinnamon.. It is really good that way and sometimes some instant coffee. Don't know how will react with something hot. Most protein unless it says to mix with hot liquid cannot be.. it'll break down from my understanding. Do you buy it at gnc... if so join their gold club and buy it from the 1-10th of the month and get the discount.. it really works out to be a great savings. I wish I had know this from the being it took me 3 months to find this out. Good luck. Donna

A mainstay food for me shortly after surgery was lentil soup with some shredded american cheese on top and salt and pepper -- ummm good! Congratulations. Hugs, Nannette
